James is a composer, artist and writer based in Leeds, UK. Their electronic work is often inspired by the stasis of the soundscapes found in the Suffolk countryside, paired with disruptive and intrusive granular, glitchy synth work. In instrumental contexts, James prefers to work to a similar dichotomy; pairing slow and repetitive detailed sounds with catalysing breaks of tuplets and cascades. They are currently working often in monochromatic graphic scores, with interpretation being at the forefront of these electronic and instrumental work. He amalgamates his writings, paintings, sculptures, digital art, poems and sound work to form instillations and pieces that cross borders and push the boundaries of linked medium. James is studying BA Music and Music Psychology at the University of Leeds.
